Why and how do many people get life-changing results?
Transformational Results
Of course there is no ‘magic’ secret; however, there are perfectly predictable reasons why the programme is very successful.
Firstly, as I have discussed at large on this website, we all have mental health i.e., we all have beliefs, thinking styles, habits, coping skills, self esteem etc. However, most people are taught very little about how to manage their mental health, which ultimately results in most people not living their potential.
By completing The Thrive Programme®, people develop the knowledge, and skills to understand how their mind works and how to manage their mental health in a thriving, flourishing way. Thus, its not just about learning how to cope with unhelpful emotions and symptoms – it’s about becoming a powerful version of you. Therefore, everyone can learn and benefit from the insights, and skills taught in the programme.
Secondly, it’s crucial for anybody ‘not thriving’, or struggling with poor mental health, to fundamentally understand why, and how, their symptoms are being created.
It’s common for interventions to predominantly focus on symptoms, often believing the presenting issues are caused by events/experiences outside of the individuals control e.g. past experiences, genetics, chemical imbalances etc. These things can have an influence, but they are not the ‘driving force’ behind the symptoms in most cases.
Attributing these symptoms as being caused by external factors renders the individual powerless in their bid to overcome them, as they are not deemed to within their control, which creates the sense that the symptoms are happening ‘to’ them.
Consequently, much of the focus is, understandably, on ‘coping’ and ‘managing’ the presenting symptoms rather than addressing the root causes and overcoming them.
Almost all other interventions work on a person’s surface thoughts and feelings and, therefore, any changes tend to be short-lived. The Thrive Programme®, however, gets to the very root of a person’s psyche - the fundamental beliefs they hold about themselves and the world - and therefore the changes are very deep, and long-lasting.
A great deal of research outlines many symptoms are caused by powerless, unhelpful belief systems, thinking styles, expectations, attitudes, and habitual thinking (poor psychological functioning). Therefore, the primary focus needs to be on these psychological components.
For example, it’s difficult to overcome anxiety and depression if your self-esteem is still low or, prevent panic attacks if your coping skills are very poor. In other words, anyone who wants to overcome their symptoms / issues, the focal point must be on resolving the driving forces that causing the symptom in the first place, otherwise the symptoms will always be present to ‘some’ degree.
When you resolve these areas, and learn the skills to optimise your psychological processes, only then can you really take control of your thinking and live the life you want. If you are just taught coping techniques, you are, essentially, waiting until you’re depressed, about to have a panic attack, stressed or anxious before thinking about doing something about it (firefighting). This encourages the sufferer to live with the symptoms- basically a ticking time-bomb. Thus, it’s very understandable why it can feel like the symptoms are happening ‘to’ you (randomly or triggered).
The Thrive Programme® is not like any other therapy or treatment you will have experienced before. The knowledge, exercises, and insights within the programme are the result to the most up-to-date modern research world-wide.
